SHIT JOSS WHY DIDN”T YOU DO THE REAVER INARA SCENE???! Seriously that would have broke my heart.

Don’t forget to tune in for the “Firefly 10th Anniversary Special“ on the Science Channel at 10pm tonight. Happy Firefly Sunday!

“If someone tries to kill you, you kill’em right back!” That one line of dialogue, among hundreds of other memorable quotes from Joss Whedon’s much loved hit TV series, Firefly, is probably the one that has stuck out to me most. While it’s not quite an identifier for the show, I’ve always viewed that line as being pretty symbolic of its fan base. Despite the show being dead in the water, the fans would not then, or now, let that show ever go away and have kept the spirit of the Serenity and its crew alive. Even now, 10-years after the show has been off the air, the fan base is so rabid and loved that panel’s at SDCC and NYCC remained packed and in response to this love, the Science Channel will be airing a one-hour reunion episode.
The reunion special, entitled Firefly: Browncoats Unite, will be aired on November the 11th at 10 PM (ET/PT), and will include the entire cast of the show along with its creator Joss Whedon, executive producer Tim Minear, and executive story editor Jose Molina. General manager and executive vice president of Science Channel, Debbie Alder Myers stated that “When Science Channel began airing Firefly in 2011, we immediately realized that these fans are a subculture united by a unique and fanatical passion for the series…Our goal is to present them the series they love – but in a totally new and surprising way.” The 60-minute special is set to include interviews with the cast, footage from Comic-Con and even bits of the science behind the show.
Beginning with an all-day marathon of the series at 7 AM, fans are set to be treated with a little more lore from the show they love and should be great for everyone to see the entire cast back together again. It’s truly a testament to the quality of that show for it to have such a short run, but to live on as long as it has. And if you’ve never watched the show before, SHAME!

“I designed Buffy to be an icon, to be an emotional experience, to be loved in a way that other shows can’t be loved. Because it’s about adolescence, which is the most important thing people go through in their development, becoming an adult. And it mythologizes it in such a way, such a romantic way-it basically says, ‘Everybody who made it through adolescence is a hero.’ And I think that’s very personal, that people get something from that that’s very real.” (x)
Fuck yes, Joss Whedon is back. I think I know what I am doing Birthday Weekend. Amy Acker Tom Lenk and Franz Kranz. I am going to overload on Jossverse.
