IANTO: Jack.
JACK: Ianto… Hey.. What’s wrong?
IANTO: You’ll have to put me in the vaults. Lock me up. I killed three girls. Strangled them.
JACK: Stop kidding around.
IANTO: I’m serious. I murdered them in cold blood. I took their bodies, and … You have to lock me away … before I turn on you. None of you are safe.
JACK: Hey, hey! Come here, come here. What’s happened to you?
IANTO: I’m a monster.I loved Ianto’s twitchiness in this scene, the real Ianto’s mind fighting against the fake memories and trying to expel them. I thought that was really cool and I wonder if it was a decision by Gareth or a script direction.
↳ Torchwood 204 Meat: Jack/IantoWow, I just stared at this set for a long while, and it hit me how it’s showing all the things I love and hate about their relationship. I feel like it all comes down to Ianto always standing there next to Jack. I just can’t imagine Jack without Ianto at his side, and maybe Jack couldn’t either, which could be why it feels like he took him for granted a lot of the time.
Which is why I wish we’d seen Jack after he left Wales before the end of CoE. Because I think in those six months, it really hit him that Ianto was no longer beside him and that Ianto was no longer there to anticipate his every move, to catch what was thrown to him, to help him into his coat.
